JEAN-FRANÇOIS OUELLET
PROFESSOR & EXPERT.
INSPIRING SPEAKER.
How will Artificial Intelligence impact your organization?
How can you keep on delivering a differentiated Customer Experience?
How can you be a Better Leader in a context of change?
As a technology entrepreneur and university professor involved in several Artificial Intelligence projects over the past 15 years, "JF" Ouellet has seen both the best and the worst practices in organizations facing the emergence of new technologies. Always focusing on Customer Value--that is, the most fundamental bread and butter of any organization--his interventions are always deeply human-centered and motivating for all who can see changes coming their way.
IS "WOW!" AN ENDANGERED SPECIES?
New technologies, starting with Artificial Intelligence and the Internet-of-things, are changing the way organizations conduct their business as well as the relationships they develop and maintain with their customers. Bus as client loyalty is becoming automated, customer satisfaction is declining, first and foremost because the so-called "wow factor" remains a human-centric affair. This conference, which has already been delivered to thousands of employees--both customer-facing and not--in hundreds of organizations explains in depth and with great originality how customer satisfaction can (and must!) remain a central point as technology evolves, and how to keep that "Wow!" factor alive and kicking!
HOW ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS CHANGING THE GAME
Artificial Intelligence, along with its technology complements like Internet-of-things, have already shown their potential in drastically changing the way organizations conduct their business. As any new technology however, Artificial Intelligence has its strengths and usefulness but also its own "hype" and over-expectations, let alone its own set of fear-induced reactions. This conference proposes to first explain what Artificial Intelligence is (and isn't) and provide a human-centered explanation of what it will mean for businesses and their workers in the near to long-term future. JF's upcoming book, which he is co-writing with Alexandre Taillefer about the collapse of Montreal's TEO TAXI--the world's first "artificially intelligent," data-driven and fully integrated taxi company--and to be published in 2020, will provide a background example of what the limits of technology are and what to do with them.
WHY HAPPINESS SHOULD BE YOUR BUSINESS PLAN
Drawing on JF's book about the importance of passion and the pursuit of happiness in any successful start-up or entrepreneurial venture, this conference explains how, in this day and age, the contagion brought about by passionate entrepreneurs has become a key differentiator and competitive advantage. This conference has been delivered to hundreds of self-employed entrepreneurs in the gig economy and franchisees, from real estate agents to pharmacists, explains in a concrete and robust way the role of growth, passion, and happiness in the success of any micro-, small, and even big business.
Jean-François Ouellet was 16 years old when he founded his first business -- Les Produits JV, a small manufacturing business which ultimately employed some 30 team members, mainly seamstresses -- before taking on the role of Chief Marketing Officer of LYRtech, a technology company that went public (TSX-V) in the year 2000. So far in his career, he has contributed to launching and/or growing a half-dozen companies. His most recent venture, in the field of artificial intelligence and Internet-of-Things, provides solutions in the field of water management and maintenance.
A post-doc from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), JF is an associate professor in the department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at HEC Montréal, the business school at the University of Montreal, Canada. He has been Associate Director and remains Chief Economist of the Montreal Creative Destruction Lab, a platform that supports the launch and growth of artificial intelligence-focused startups and ventures. He has delivered hundreds of conferences to organizations in Canada and around the world.
Between 2010 and 2014, he was the host of Génération INC., a television show about the challenges of entrepreneurship, for which he was nominated twice for Best Host of a Public Affairs show at the 2012 and 2014 French-language Gemini Awards (the Gémeaux).
Jean-François Ouellet is fluent in French, English, and Spanish. He is driven by innovation and business challenges. When he's not working, you'll find him by the piano or playing tennis with his two young sons.
